Lalokalosipani News 16 from Matahau

Dear Famili,

Malo ho'omou lelei. Ko 'eni 'oku mau mo'ui lelei pe hono kotoa. Sai pe 'a Maliana, Fita, Tiana pehe kia Milika mo Saimone. Sai pe mo Poini ki he 'api 'i loto kolo (hopefully!). Poini has found a new job now at another computering office. I hope he'll enjoy that new environment. Sai pe 'a Lotini mo e famili, he's doing well now and in control. As for me, 'oku ou sai pe. Ko 'eni kou lolotonga 'i he ngaue, and my bosses have gone out for a meeting kau toki hao hake ai leva.

Ko e fakamalo atu ai pe kia Napa he fakamanatu mai e ngoue. Ko 'eni 'oku 'ai ke fana e manioke tomorrow, as planned. 'Osi kole e misini fana 'a Siua42 mo hono 'utu e vai ki 'uta. Ko e toe 'eni e tama fana, 'a Masiva, pe 'e ma'u ki fe. But if not Masiva, then Tiana will find Siotonu. Ko e me'a pe ko ho'omou fu'u ta'efalala mai kiate au. Mou 'osi 'ilo pe na'e 'osi ma'u 'eku tipiloma mei he Hango Primary School, although that goes back about 17 years, but I still got the skills. Still I hope 'e ma'u e ongo tama fana vao. Sai pe ke na ha'u 'o fana, kau tali ki he'eku vahe faiongoongo ke totongi 'aki kinaua . . . lol. [admin: good things happen to those who wait!]

The other exciting news for us is that our very own little Milika Jr has enrolled at a new kindergarden school, namely St. Francis 'i Mataika which is at the care of Sr.Clare and her convent. Mahalo 'oku kau eni ia he 'aho fiefia 'a e ki'i ta'ahine he'ene hu ki he ako. Ngalingali pe 'oku siolalo ki he'emau kindy he Lalo Kalosipani, kae mahalo na'a 'oku pau ange 'a St. Francis.

The other good news is that our cousin Polo Quinn managed to arrive home from being stranded in Niuafo'ou. He went there on the MV Ashika's last trip to the Niua. Pea toki hao mai 'i he hoko 'a e tsunami 'o a'u atu e ngaahi vaka tokoni ki he ongo niua, 'o si'i hola mo'ui mai ai e tangata. Sai pe he na'e ha'u mo 'emau kava lahi 'au'aupito, teu feinga ki ai ke ma'u ha'aku ki'i kilo kava si'isi'i pe 'e 8, ko e Bro foki! But still, it was good to have him back home!

Last week, na'e fai ai 'emau kalapu 'a e Lataki pea na'e fakalakalaka lahi 'aupito he na'e iku mole e ki'i kalapu ia. Ne toe pe mo'ua ki he holo mo e mo'ua ki he tou'a 'e taha na'e kole mai ke totongi. Pea sai pe ia he 'oku 'i ai 'emau loea ia 'amautolu (Masiva) ke mau toki faka'osi ai ki falehopo. Kou 'alu e 'o 'omai e tou'a mei Ma'ufanga, ka nau kei ha'u pe 'o fakapaheke he'emau kalapu. Sai ia he ko e ngata eni ia ha'aku toe 'omai ha tou'a ki Matahau, ka nau sio he fakatangata ki he papahia. Then came last Saturday, na'e fai ai 'emau bingo 'a e Lataki 'o lava ke totongi e mole ko ia 'a e kalapu (thank goodness!). Na'e ma'u 'emau ki'i pa'anga 'e $100 mei he ki'i tunu pe 'e 6. We were pretty lucky coz that's a good profit, he na'e toe ma'u pe ia 'e he'emau Lataki e fo'i tunu bingo 'e 2, pea toe vilohi mai pe 'o bingou'i 'o a'u ai 'emau silini ki he $100. Me'a mohufaiva ko mautolu e!

With our hometown of Matahau, things are going well. Ko e toe pe 'eni 'a e polisi fakakolo ke fokotu'u 'i he 'api 'i lotokolo (falekoloa motu'a 'i 'api), but it hasn't been implemented yet. You'll have to ask Poini for more info on that one. As for me, I have to get to work. Pea mou fiemalie pe famili, 'oua temou fu'u hoha'a he'eku 'alu 'o ve'etou'a, taumaia ko ha'aku loto, he ko e noo'i hangatonu pe au ia 'e he kaunanga keu fakalatalata ia 'i he ha'ofanga . . . mou 'eke pe moutolu kia Napa. 'Eke ange Napa e! [admin: mohe talia ia!]

Anyway, 'ofa lahi atu pea mou tauhi lelei foki famili. Tokanga ki he lotu . . . pea fai ke mo'oni.

Malo 'aupito
