Photos of 2009 Academic Year!
Greetings to you all, families & friends!
Just to accompany the recent photos from my school, published yesterday. There are heaps of photos from the school and other events happened throughout the year. Hence, I'll try to send more whenever I have time. Of course you now have the link to our school's website. You click on the Photo Gallery and you'll see more pictures from different events here at the school.
Part of being a Principal is to be present for the students in most, if not all events. It's one of the most powerful tools being with young people. The students feel important and affirmed when you take the trouble to be there for them. That's why I have to travel back and forth from Levuka to Suva to assure students that we appreciate and value their contribution to the school. Surely, it can be tiring at times but the exercise is certainly empowering and enriching.
One of the photos, is a souvenir picture of myself and the new President of Fiji, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau. He is a personal friend of mine. I was in Suva on the day that he was sworn in and we had a celebration after that at the Defence Club! His wife is Adi Koila, daughter of the late President, Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara. I blessed their house a few years back and they call on me whenever they need something from me.
Funny he told me to come to Government's House whenever I'm in Suva! I've been there before of course when Ratu Mara was still alive as I taught his grandson in Taveuni. Hence, the connection continues. Personally, I feel blessed to have known these chiefly people, and it makes me more proud of our Fijian connection.
Please continue to pray for my exam Forms as they are currently sitting their exams.
'Ofa atu & hufaki,
