Lalokalosipani News from Matahau (no 19)
Hello famili and malo ho’omou lelei! I hope ‘oku mou sai kotoa pe, pea kapau ‘oku ‘ikai pea mou kataki ‘o vakai atu ki falemahaki na’a ma’u ha’amou fo’i panatolo.
I don’t have much to tell you this week other than the toll of our office work load on me. Kaikehe pe ke lava ke fai ha afe mai ‘o fakalea atu kiate kimoutolu mei he Lalo Kalosipani. ‘Oku mau mo’ui lelei pe. Although the summer heat is slowly arriving we embrace it with a good heart. With the spirit of the Lalo Kalosipani, and the cool breeze ‘o e fu’u lalo paini ‘o e ‘api ko Faitonunga, ‘oku mau mo’ui lelei hono kotoa pe. We haven’t had any medical drama concerning big Maliana or little Saimone and they seem very healthy. Ko ‘emau ki’i ta’ahine, Milika jr, ‘oku teu ako taupo’ou ia pea 'oku nofo pe ia ‘i Lutu mo Sr. Clare. Pea hala ha’ane teitei fie foki mai ia ki homau Lalo Kalosipani . . . mahalo ngali ma’ui’ui e tanetane ‘i Lutu. Ko Fita pe ‘oku fa’a ‘alu atu 'i he’enau timi volipolo and I don’t know much about their results except when their team come home complaining. Ko ‘enau toki matuku atu e mei hotau falekai ‘o mohe kae ‘ata mai ‘eku loki ngaue. Ko ‘emau fu’u supo moa pe na’e ‘ai ‘e Tiana (ko e ifo atu he taimi fiekaia). Kou ma pe hono kai’i katoa e ki’i supo na’a kei’ingo ha ni’ihi, but it was damn yummy. Ko Poini pe ‘eni na’e ha’u heni ‘o kumi kai mo faka’eke’eke mai pe ‘oku fefe ‘etau ma’ala mo ‘etau manioke . . .‘ilo ai pe ai ‘ene ta’e'ilo ki he ngoue 'i 'uta.
Before sunset today, I went to the ‘uta of Tu’ila (Paea Mafi), and I was surprised ke sio ki he fu’u faama meleni ‘a e motu’a. Ko e me’a pe ‘oku fakaofo ‘ia Tu’ila, ko e ‘ikai toe tokanga e motu’a ki he’ene ilifia tevolo ka ne si’i le’o po’uli pe ‘ene meleni.
Anyway, ko hotau ki’i City of Matahau ‘oku longonoa mai after our group representatives mei he Kalapu Fe’ofa’aki’akakau left last Monday the 15th November for NZ. It does affect e kaingalotu, due to our small population. Ka ‘oku mau faka’amu pe ‘e ma’u ‘e he kau tangata ni ha folau lelei . . . meaning not only ke to’oto’o mai ha ki’i me’a lelei ki ‘api pea ‘oua foki na’a tuku atu ha fo’i ngaue pango as previously happened in their travel for visa application in Suva, Fiji where one of the members stole a valuable object, kae hao pe he na’e ma’u ‘o fakafoki without prosecution. For this crew heading to Kiwiland, ‘oku ou falala lahi he ‘ikai hoko ha me’a pehe . . . other than everything else I don’t know.
Anyway, ko ‘etau ngoue ‘oku laumalie lelei pe. Na’e hokohoko to pe e me'i vai tapuaki mei langi but we’ll keep monitoring the weed as the rain comes, especially ki he ma’ala. Ka ke fiemalie koe Napa, ‘e huo'i pe ia. Before Xmas, I’ll try to get you the latest pictures ‘o ‘etau ngoue for your information. Ok?
Just the other news for some of you guys, na’u ‘alu the night before ‘o leleaki’i e tangata’eiki ko Matakaiongo ki falemahaki ko e high blood pressure. ‘Ikai ke hoko ha mahaki kehe ia ki hono sino, pehe 'e he toketa-Tonga ko e me’a pe ia he hoha’a ‘a e motu’a, or whatever worries are in his state of mind. Actually the man is about 78yrs old I think. So that’s a pretty cool, so lucky for him. But he’s ok now. He’s back at his home, so hopefully the man will find his way peacefully, as all of you should be.
As we come close to the end of the year, one thing that eases me is that school will come to the finishing line soon. This is not about me, this is about my little horsey, my car a.k.a. the “Bus” ke ki’i manava hifo hono uta fonu e kau leka ki he ako. Ka ko e pango foki ia e ‘ikai ai ha main public transport ki he City, ko e me’a pe ‘oku hoko ko hono ui leva ‘a e ka ia ko e pasi. Sometimes kou ongo’i ‘e au ‘e mafasia e tu’a ia e pasi, kae si’i pine pe pasi mo e ‘amanaki lelei ki he kaha’u e fanga ki’i fanau ni . . . hoooi!
Ok well, that’s about it from here. Ka mou nofo a, pea mou tauhi lelei famili. ‘Oku mau ‘ofa lahi atu kiate kimoutolu mo e hufaki vaivai
Ko au Hiko’itaulanga
