Merry Christmas from Lalokalosipani

Dear Famili,

Merry Xmas to you all and a prosperous new year. I know 'oku fuoloa 'eku puli, ka mou kataki'i ange mu'a au, ko e lahi pe si'ete tu'utamaki but had more to do with work which has made life harder for me. It's been tough for me lately in the office that I find it hard or better, lost the touch of getting into the net, for the sake of sticking with the job. But thankfully to Father Xmas keu lava 'o toe afea mai ai hotau ki'i 'api ni.

Ko ia 'a e fakamalo atu kia kimoutolu 'a ho'omou kei kataki mo e manatu mai 'a hotau ki'i 'api masiva he Lalo Kalosipani. At home 'oku nau mo'ui lelei pe hono kotoa. Yesterday 'oku fakafiefia ki he Lalo Kalosipani ke afea hotau 'api 'e he kau 'a'ahi tokolahi. Not only Fr. Ekuasi and Manoa from LA, but we had Sione Ekuasi too (a.k.a. Sione Toupi), who we now call Pisope. We also had a Fijian family ne fakaafe'i mai 'e Sr.Clare pea 'ai ai pe mo 'eku fu'u 'umu ke 'aonga since now we could get enough food to use up the oven Fr.Napa made for Saimone jr's 1st birthday. We also had Sose, ‘Ofa and families, Uini and kids, 'Alipate Tavo Sr. and mum 'Anamaka, as well as Rodney's family with the entertainment of our very own tau'olunga queen, Etivise Tauafu Sikei jr (Heilala Miss Tau'olonga Jr). We did have a Xmas tree with presents Father Santa brought us, but up to now 'oku te'eki ke toli 'emau 'akau Xmas, ka kuo fiu tali 'a Milika ia mo Saimone, pea kuo na 'osi kamata unwrap atu 'enaua e 'u me'a'ofa. Our little village has it's usual Xmas beat hange ko 'etau Papolo (girls' basketball). This time we had two teams representing both end of the city pea hange ko e lau 'a Patele, nau toki tausino ai pe nautolu 'i loto mala'e ke fakapapaka 'aki e ngaahi timi kehe, especially on the homeground. It's the winning key, being physical, in order to get the win. Ko e malo 'enau kei hao mei hano tolo mai kinautolu mei he'enau ngaahi tau 'a'ahi.

Lately also we had the Fekau'aki 'a Fafine 'a'ahi 'enau ngaahi koloa faka-Tonga mo e 'a'ahi 'api. I put up some of their photos on my bebo page mo 'enau ngaahi koloa 'oku kei tuku atu he ngaahi kautaha noo . . . lol, ko e fakakata pe ia na’a ‘ilo ‘e he finematu’a ‘eku lau. But I hope I’m wrong though. Ka kou petipeti pe au he koloa faka-Tonga ‘a Mum, he‘ene maau pea faka’ofo’ofa foki ‘o teu ai pe ki he’eku mali (neongo ‘ene fakalotoloto) but I’m sure slowly she’ll realize she has no choice . . . lol

Anyway, the other news which I don’t really like to hear is regarding e fili lakanga homau kaingalotu, kae ‘ata mu’a ke ‘oatu ‘eku ki’i launga ko ‘eni. I don’t know how our community church get to choose some people ki he ngaahi lakanga without those people’s consent. That is my Mum gets to be the tauhi (which I hope he’ikai ke nounou ai e mo’ui 'a Lotiola due to her health problem), taking the post from Mr. Folau Pofaiva. Our Fita’ila is the secretary which she gladly takes. Tu’ifua still gets to be the pulengaue. Kolo Pousini in charge of the hall. And they voted to choose Hikosi’i, without his consent, to be the Tauhipa’anga. Three main reasons I don’t want to take up this job is one, I have no interest in it at all except for the lataki, two – is that ‘oku si’isi’i e pa’anga ia ko ‘eni ki he’eku kai, and three – I wasn’t even there to have any say. So you tell me if that sounds right to you guys or not, Coz I DON’T THINK SO!

The other news family, ko e fakamalo lahi atu ki ho’omou hufaki regarding ‘emau kalapu Fe’ofa’aki’akakau. As you may or may not be aware of, ‘oku lolotonga fakapaea atu foki ‘emau kau memipa ‘o e kalapu ‘I he fonua ko Aotearoa ko e feinga ha ki’i okooko ki he ngaue ‘a e kalapu hange ko e totongiako e fanau ‘o Matahau, mo e ngaahi langa fakalakalaka kehe pe. Pea ne a’utaki mai e ola ‘o e feinga ‘a e Kalapu mei Nu’usila, ne fe’unga mo e NZD$24,000 which came to be TOP$31100+. I was told the fundraising was more then NZD$24K ka ne to’o atu e ngaahi fakamole kehekehe which shows e ‘ofa e kakai kehekehe ‘o Nu’usila, neongo pe na’e fefe e fotu mo e teu na’e fai, ka ‘oku mau hounga’ia foki ‘I he fu’u ‘ofa pehe ni ne ma’u. Pea ‘oku ou fakamalo lahi atu ki ho’omou hufaki, ko eni ko e silini eni ‘oku ‘i hoku malumalu, mou fiemalie moutolu. Teu fakatau stock ‘aki ha’amau share I he Wall Street pea ‘e ma’u ai ‘etau tupu lahi faufaua, mo toki emaili’i atu ho’omou ngaah ‘inasi ki he xmas hoko. Ko ia ‘a e fakamalo lahi atu kia MeleEtuate, pehe kia Holo-ki-Ha’a-Havea mo kimoutolu kotoa pe kainga Tonga na’a mou si’i ‘ofa hake ki he’etau feinga pa’anga. Malo lahi e ‘ofa pea malo lahi ‘aupito.

Ko ia ai famili, teu ngata a he na’a faifai pea mou mahamahalo. Mou tu’amelia ai pe ‘oku ‘amanaki lelei ai pe ki he’etau manioke since 'Ekuasi and Manoa are here. Ko ‘ene huohuo fakamalohisino pe mo kaitunu sipi ‘i ‘uta ki he ma’a mo’oni e ki’i manioke mo e ma’ala hono huo. Ko ia, mou teuteu mai next year ‘e uta atu ‘etau manioke. Ka mo u nofo a pea mou tauhi lelei. Talamonu atu ki he ta’ufo’ou monu’ia mo e famili fonu fiefia.

‘Ofa lahi faufau atu
