Christmas News from Samoa

Greeting from Samoa and may you all have a good and joyful christmas.

I was very busy in my parish in the last two weeks due to the priesthood ordination and the opening of our new church. Ne a'u ki ha taimi neu mei accident he hala he tulimohe kae malo pe moe hufaki mai si'a faahinga.

As you all know that Filimi and Lotiola came for the huufifale and we spent christmas together and on the 28th Filimi will leave us and only me and Lotiola will spend the new year together and then we will leave together on the 6th of Jan for Tonga. I owe her that much time so I am going to accompany her to Tonga and spend 3 weeks in Tonga and then back. That is the time she spent here with me and also I think I deserve a break after all these activities in our parish. Malo si'omou hufaki pea 'oua e fakakaukau huo ma'ala mai ha taha. koe mohe pe mo kumi kai.

Anyway, we are having a good time here and we did go and visit our Samoan family here. Filimi is a very brave man, who put his faith before himself and others especially his family. He traveled all the way from US to bring the tapenakulo I asked for the new church. He is 79 and still going.

Lotiola is enjoying her Korean movies and maybe its time to give some time to the Losalio, which will be very helpful to the family. Ka ko e Launima ia 'oku kei talanoa'i 'ehe kainga ni. Ne folahi pe mei mu'a he falelotu 'o a'u ki he matapa hu'anga. Pea toe faka'ofo'ofa pe mo e kupesi ia. Ko e fuatanga 'e tuku aipe ia heni ke tali 'aki ha'aku ki'i kavenga. Kae saipe he teu 'alu ki Tonga na'a ma'u mai ha toe ki'i fuatanga.

As you know Fr Hiko is in Australia and I don't know when he will be back, perhabs just in time for when school starts. Ke tau ma'u mai pe ha ki'i dollar.

Ki he kau Kiwi, fefe e teu ki he'etau World Cup. Ko e taimi nounou neu 'i hena ai he ta'u ni ka 'oku fakangalongata'a 'aupito e ma'a (clean green) e fonua. Ka mou teu pe mo 'alu'alu pe 'i lalo 'o hange koe 'Ikale Tahi he 2007. Mahalo ko ia pe, ka mou nofo a, 'ofa atu moe hufaki mei Ha'amoa Hihifo.

Fa soifua,

Patele Lopeti
