Matahau Lalokalosipani News 15

Hello famili pea malo ho'omou lelei.

I'm sitting here at home at the Lalokalosipani 'o tali 'emau 'umu ke moho. Ko 'emau 'umu lu-moa pe mo e lu-pulumasima. Of course, that's the best dishes we get here at the Lalo Kalosipani every Sunday. I'm sure you guys have your own specials on Sundays. It seems quiet though, of course it's Sunday. Mau talitali ai pe ki he'emau misa 'a efiafi. We just had our fakama'uma'u hiva this afternoon, and hopefully to keep it as it is at mass.

As you all know, it's the Heilala Festival season now on the island. Again our local kava-Tonga club, ko e Fe'ofa'aki-'a-kakau, are preparing ki hono hiva'i 'o e tau'olunga 'a Lesieli Kalamafoni ('ofefine 'o Viliami Kalamafoni) who came from the States to participate in the Miss Pre-Teen Tau'olunga Festival. Our big day is this coming Tuesday, so hopefully we'll perform alright. We have been practising e tau'olunga. Ko e punake tau'olunga is our very own Mele Koula Sikei, and last year's winner, Etivise Sikei jr, will be a guest of honour and will hand over her Tau'olunga crown to this year's winner. So let's hope we'll keep that crown again here at the Fungangalukilo.

The other news is that lately in the local rugby league tournament (First Division) our very own Matahau Stormers are doing pretty good. It's round eight already and they are still undefeated. With four more rounds to go before the playoffs, our team have defeated Ma'ufanga, Te'ekiu, Lapaha, Vaini and a few other teams, and last Saturday (round eight) they brutally smashed Ha'akame (one of the favourites, sorry Nau!) with a convincing win of 26-5. Neongo na'e teuteu atu mo e kau poupou telia na'a toe hoko mo ha tau ia outside the field (as it happened in past games with Ha'akame) but the result tells it all, and we came home the better team of the day. So hopefully, our boys we'll keep it up. Fakafiefia ia ko e lava atu e ki'i fonua 'o poupou ki he timi, hange ko e matu'a vaivai, ko e ma'u ha'anau taimi kenau sio mo fiefia he va'inga 'a e tamaiki.

Anyway folks, hope all is well with you all. Ko 'eni mau mo'ui lelei pe. Mo'ui lelei pe fefine ko Maliana Sisifa, pehe kia Tiana, Neniti mo e famili. Fifita is doing well with the caring for Joan. A great news is that Joan has recovered well, pea kuo nau 'osi 'ata mai mei Falemahaki, ka 'oku nau kei nofo pe 'i he 'api Malia-'i-Lutu 'i Havelu where Fita continues taking care of Joan. My mum, ko 'eni lolotonga lele 'ene tutu, pea 'oku tutua 'aho kae toki folo panadol po'uli. Poini, Silia & Tom Cruise are healthy, ka mou nofo a famili. Teu fakavave he ke kai 'emau 'umu, kau lele atu ki falemahaki 'o vakai 'a Sepa, who's the same as always (if you guys ever wonders about him).

Anyway, 'ofa lahi faufaua atu famili, pea mou 'ofa mai 'o tauhi lelei,

Ko au Hiko'itaulanga
