Talofa

Talofa lava and warm greetings to you all from the 'Penina o le Pasifika' - the 'Pearl of the Pacific' so they say. We are now in the midst of grand celebration of Samoa's Golden Jubilee of Independence. It started on Friday and will go on for a week. On Friday night, Apia Rugby Park was packed for the UB40 concert. The KIng and Queen of Tonga are here as well as a big number of Tongans. Our school, Chanel College will also celebrate our Golden Juilee beginning this Thursday and end on Sunday. There are lots of visitors to the country this time. We are on three weeks holiday now and I have been very busy teaching some Tongan dances ('oua....mohe a Pilivi ia) for the entertainment on Thursday. Luckily by that time the King and those who came for the Independent celebration will be gone by then. Stan came through here from Pago and spent half a day before going on to Tonga. He will spend a day here with me before tali ui ki Canada. he looks well and its good to see him. Im well and so far this year I haven't been sick. I do hope you are all well. Fakamonu'ia atu e ngaahi ngaue kotoa pe 'oku mou fai pea 'oku ou 'ofa atu 'aupito moe hufaki. Viko.
