In case you haven't been informed or noticed online yet, the sad news about uncle Loe Kaumatule has just been posted on facebook by his daughter, Teuila Jr. Uncle Loe passed away last night at his home in Vancouver, WA, just across the river/bridge from Portland, Oregon. I'm sure there'll be more details to come but this news need to be sent to the Tavo clan in particular, esp. those in USA. Uncle Loe by the way is Filimi's, Maka's and Ekuasi's nephew. The familiar family name of "Olympia Vake" comes from Loe's mom, who married the late Lopeti Kaumatule. I'm off to a conference this week (until Sunday) but I sure am planning to be there for the funeral. So far it looks like the funeral (prayers, view and burial) is planned for the weekend, July 26-28.
